UIN registration required before first FR sale

France REP Emballages for Shopify — SYDEREP CSV

France packaging EPR for Shopify sellers

Legal summary

France's REP Emballages regime (AGEC law, Décret 2020-1725) makes producers responsible for the end-of-life management of packaging they place on the French market. Ecommerce sellers, marketplace vendors, and importers are all in scope.

Producers must obtain a Unique Identification Number (UIN) via SYDEREP, join a compliance organisation (typically CITEO for household packaging), pay eco-contributions, and file annual declarations with packaging quantities by material.

SYDEREP accepts CSV uploads with CITEO material codes. Manual compilation from Shopify exports is time-consuming and error-prone for multi-SKU stores.
